Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center is an independent organization that specializes in providing training and consulting services. Our mission is to assist manufacturers in increasing productivity, quality and customer satisfaction. Much of our work involves small to mid-sized manufacturing clients.

POSITION SUMMARY

This full-time Quality Program Manager will be responsible for developing and providing technical services to small and medium-sized manufacturing firms.  The position will entail assessing manufacturers' operations and formulating practical solutions to improve their operations.  The successful candidate will have the ability to sell and execute technical service delivery projects to completion, in a timely and cost conscious manner.  Particular expertise is necessary in the Quality System implementation of ISO 9001:2008 & 2015, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, AS 9100 and Quality System ‘Core Tools’ training such as; Internal Auditor training and training in PPAP, APQP, MSA, FMEA and SPC. Candidates, at a minimum, are required to maintain the credentials of a certified Quality Auditor.  The candidate should have experience in a manufacturing environment with a previous position in Management, Quality, or Engineering.  Previously employed by a Registrar to conduct registration and or surveillance audits. ISO 14001 and 27001 background would be considered a plus. Position involves some travel to client firms, the majority are located within southeast Michigan.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MUST HAVE experience and expertise in the field of Quality Systems: ISO 9001:2008 & 2015, IATF 16949, ISO 13485 and AS 9100 quality system development, and Core Tools (FMEA, APQP, MSA, SPC, PPAP)
  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent education/experience) in a technical or business field
  • Excellent ability to interface with customers
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Capable of independently managing multiple service delivery projects
  • Quality Auditor training, Exemplar Global/RAB Quality auditor certification ISO 9001:2008 with ISO 9001:2015
  • Capability to conduct and write (Internal) Quality Management System Assessment Reports

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Problem Solving, 5 WHY, 8-D (Global), Gage R&R, Capability Studies, Risk Management knowledge and experience with delivery of services
  • ISO- 14001 and 18001 requirement knowledge and program implementation
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing practices
  • Knowledge of and the ability to conduct training on GD&T
  • NADCAP knowledge for ‘special processes’
  • ISO -27001 requirement knowledge and program implementation
  • Experience in calibration, lab expertise
  • Experience in marketing, consulting, and sales of technical services
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualifications

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Provide technical support and expertise to area client firms

2.  Strong capabilities in training & implementation of QMS in a variety of industry sectors

3.  Develop, prepare and present customer proposals

4.  Manage and execute technical assistance projects, including IATF or ISO Quality

     Management System assessments

5.  Work with internal staff in developing and improving tools and methodologies
